WINTER DRIVING SAFETY NOTES (Mandatory)
Hokkaido winter driving can be extremely dangerous.
You Must
- follow all road closures and restrictions
- drive at speeds appropriate for ice/snow
- keep safe distance; avoid sudden braking
- avoid driving in storms/whiteout when possible
- follow any chain guidance if provided
You Must Not
- drive into closed areas, unplowed roads, or severe blizzard conditions
- rely solely on GPS when conditions are changing
Height / Clearance Reminder
Always confirm posted clearance before entering:
- parking structures
- tunnels
- covered entrances
- narrow roads with snowbanks
